Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get to the Dominican campus?

Although the campus is off the beaten path, it’s quite easy to navigate there. The address is 1475 Grand Avenue, San Rafael, CA 94901.

  - From the North: Take 101 to the Central San Rafael exit. At the first stop sign, turn left and proceed to the
Grand Avenue, where you will turn left, heading north to the stop sign at Acacia Avenue.
Turn left into the Conlan Center parking lot. The field is located to the left of the complex,
  behind the outdoor swimming pool.

  - From the South: Take 101 to the Central San Rafael exit and turn right on 2nd Avenue. At the first stop
light, turn left on to Grand Avenue and head straight to Acacia Avenue. Turn left into the
Conlan Center parking lot. The field is located to the left of the complex, behind the
  outdoor swimming pool.

If the camp starts at a certain time, when should I arrive?

The latest you should arrive is 15 minutes before the start of camp, allowing time to walk from the car, put on your equipment and get warmed up on your own. Arriving on time shows respect to the coaches and other campers who are dedicated to maximizing their experience.

Where do we register for the camp once we arrive on the Dominican campus?

A table will be set up and available as soon as you walk across the footbridge to the field. There you will be given a reversible, a camp T-shirt, and name tags for your helmet so coaches can refer to you by your first name, rather than “Hey, you...”

What do I need to bring to camp?

We are concerned with safety, so you will need to wear everything you would wear during an officiated game, including your mouthguard. You will also need to bring your own water bottle, as well as flat shoes or flip-flops for when we watch film in classrooms.

If my child can’t make it to the entire camp, can we prorate the cost?

We enter the week with a specific number of campers in mind and plan the day’s drills accordingly. If one camper is there for two days, and another camper is there for one day, and another camper is there for two and half days, it makes the coach’s job more difficult. We want dedicated young people who are here to learn for the entire camp. With that being said, if an emergency were to arise, we would talk about the situation intelligently and come to an objective solution.

Is the field grass or synthetic turf?

The field is grass, so cleats are recommended for the best footing.

If there is an injury or emergency, what steps will be taken?

For our competitive camps, our on-site trainer will take the necessary steps to treat the injury. If the injury is more serious, we will call the emergency contact number provided before camp begins.

If the camp ends at a certain time, when should we pick up my child?

We will allow a 20 minute grace period from the end of camp, sympathetic to traffic and other possible hindrances. After 20 minutes, we will charge $10 for every ten minutes that you are late.

Can I stay and watch my child at camp?

Absolutely. We realize that as much as our staff enjoys seeing improvement, it doesn’t compare to that of the parents’ enjoyment. Our field is surrounded with bleachers, benches and plenty of shade, and folding chairs are more than welcome!
